Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D., CDE
Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D., CDE is the president of Compass Consulting Services, LLC and has served in that capacity since 2013. Initially, after co-founding and serving as one of the two Partners and Founders of the organization for almost the first five years of the company’s history. Prior to this, she worked at The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio (formerly NCCJ) where she served the organization for 14 years and her last years as Vice President & Director of Leadership Development.
SHEMARIAH J. ARKI, EdD
Shemariah J. Arki identifies as an educator, an activist and an organizer. Currently serving as a professor in the department of Pan-African Studies and as the interim director of the Center for Pan African Culture, both at Kent State University, she is an intersectional feminist scholar with expert knowledge and skills to develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate curricula that promote institutional equity, communication, and access for traditionally marginalized students and families
Alexandra Beatty
Alexandra has been with Compass since 2015, bringing her multitude of experiences in environmental education and youth development. Born outside of Boston, in Concord, Massachusetts, the home of Walden Pond, Alexandra is continually inspired by her hometown. Concord has indeed instilled her a love of wild nature and diverse communities.
Andrea M. Gorman, M.Ed.
Andrea has recently joined the Compass Consulting team, after serving in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas as a Training Specialist for 16 years. In that capacity, she established the Court’s diversity training initiative, and seeks to continue her advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion in our community.
Adriennie Y. Hatten, Ph.D.
Dr. Hatten is a Strategic Nonprofit Leader with diversified experience working across Northeastern Ohio for over 25- years in social services, education and government with expertise in performance management. She is a Management Consultant and an Educator.
Barbara Hueter, M.Ed.
Barbara specializes in providing engaging and thought-provoking training and workshops in the areas of DEI, Implicit Bias, EEO and ethics. A former high school Spanish teacher, lobbyist, and political director, Barbara has spent her academic and professional career engaging and relating to people from various walks of life in a wide range of settings.
Rhian Jones
Rhian, twenty-four, recently joined the Compass Consulting team as the project coordinator and is currently living in Sandusky, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Hospitality & Event Management with a focus on corporate events at Bowling Green State University.
Tanya Martin, MS
Tanya has been with Compass since 2012 and serves as the executive assistant to President Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D., CDE. Prior to starting at Compass, Tanya was a manager and national corporate trainer for four years at a Fortune 50 company in New York City, specializing in sales, underwriting and customer service training.
Jacob Nash, MA, CDP
Jake has been with Compass since 2012 and is a consultant and published writer, as well as a seasoned, engaging presenter committed to training both providers and community activists on the needs of transgender people. In 2014, Jake received an MA from Cleveland State University in psychology, with a concentration in diversity management.
E. Gail Reese, MLIS, MNO
Gail has forty years of experience as an information specialist in higher education. She is an academic/research librarian with extensive experience in areas of humanities and social sciences. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and master degrees in Library and Information Sciences as well as a masters in Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University.
Elisabeth Roccoforte, MA
Liz is a seasoned Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Professional with over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in (DEIB) initiatives. She has worked with Compass as a consultant since 2010 but became a full-time Senior Consultant in 2021. Prior to 2021, she served for 11 years as the inaugural Director of Case Western Reserve's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center.
Renee Street, MA
Renee has been with Compass since 2010 and serves as the administrative assistant and consultant. Renee is a retired secondary special education teacher with more than 25 years of classroom experience and leadership skills.
Alesha Williams, MFA
Alesha is an illustrator, Designer and Educator from Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her BFA in Illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design and earned her MFA in Visual Communication Design at Kent State University.
