E. Gail Reese, MLIS, MNO
Gail has forty years of experience as an information specialist in higher education. She is an academic/research librarian with extensive experience in areas of humanities and social sciences. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and master degrees in Library and Information Sciences as well as a masters in Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University.
She retired this year as the Associate Director for Public Engagement and Library Administration at the Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing library personnel, conflict management, programming and events, library strategic planning, budgets and assessment.
She has experience and skills in all aspects of leadership training, library human resources management and served as the human resources librarian for over ten years which included diversity and inclusion training, recruitment and new staff onboarding.
Gail suffers from the curse of being interested in EVERYTHING and her research interests, skills and abilities reflect this. She is a published writer and believes everyone should have a “Personal Librarian.”
