Jacob Nash, MA, CDP
Jake has been with Compass since 2012 and is a consultant, published writer and a seasoned, engaging presenter committed to training both providers and community activists on the needs of transgender people. In 2014, Jake received an MA from Cleveland State University in Psychology, with a concentration in Diversity Management.
For over 15 years, Jake has been a trainer and consultant specializing in transgender and diversity issues . Past clients include social workers, medical professionals, politicians, youth (high school and college aged) and pastors as well as other faith based leaders. He is also the Founder and President of Margie’s Hope, an organization which assists transgender individuals in need and will soon have a transitional living program that will help homeless transgender clients to secure stable housing and employment as well as other necessary services.
As an activist, he served as an advisor to Cleveland City Council on the legalization of the domestic partner registry and on the inclusion of gender identity and expression into the city’s non-discrimination policy in 2009. In 2011, he was awarded the Stephanie Tubbs-Jones Freedom Award from the Cleveland Stonewall Democrats for his work in helping to advance the rights and understanding of the transgender community.
